The Challenge:
- To upgrade the existing lighting due to a combination of faulty luminaires and the high consumption of the existing luminaires.
- To specify a quality UK manufacturer and justify our selection.
- To complete lighting drawings showing the light levels produced across all areas.
- To acheive maximum light output in the open areas.
- To produce a payback calculation based on the average usage.
- To ensure compliance with the light levels required for the activity in each area.
- To upgrade the emergency lighting.
- To provide the required RELUX drawings to back up our design.
The Solution:
- To design a lighting system specific for Bells Healthcare with maximum efficiency and energy saving.
- We specified a sensor controlled dimmable system to enable both occupancy control and the ability to increase/decrease the light levels as required.
- Ensuring compliance with the required light levels.
- Using the dimmable occupancy detector, dimming each luminaire to 10% brightness after 20 minutes of no occupancy then off after a further 60 minutes, providing maximum energy saving yet operational safety.
- To specify and design the emergency lighting ensuring compliance and adequate light levels.
