Photometric Data - DT Electrical & Compliance

Article 14 of the regulation’s states that: Emergency routes and exits must be indicated by signs; and emergency routes and exits requiring illumination must be provided with emergency lighting of adequate intensity in the case of failure of their normal lighting.

A photometric study will make sure your emergency lighting layout is compliant with BS 5266-1:2016 - Code of practice for the emergency lighting of premises
As part of the Compliance Audit, we produce photometric data of the emergency lighting produced by the existing installation. In 95% of previous compliance Audits this information has highlighted non-compliances in emergency lighting with some escape routes and stairwells in complete darkness and others with large sections or rooms with no emergency lighting at all.
This provides evidence of what is truly required, and it could be as simple as installing one additional bulkhead or more complex with the requirement of replacement a faulty central battery system.
Upon completion of any remedial work, this photometric data can be updated and become the required backup documentation for the emergency lighting verification certification, leaving no remedial actions relating to emergency lighting when the fire inspectors audit your property.
